Book A Trip

We’ll call you the week of your trip to confirm order details and get boot and wader sizing. If you booked a full day trip we’ll gather any dietary requirements you have so we can accommodate those for your lunch on the river.

You’ll get a call from your guide the day before your trip to coordinate meeting times and locations. If you have any questions in the meantime please don’t hesitate to call us.

A Colorado state fishing license and guide gratuity are not included in the booking price.

If you’re in Colorado, a fishing license can be purchased at most sporting goods stores and fly shops.

Weather in Colorado is unpredictable, especially at high elevation where changes in temperature, wind, and precipitation can quickly sneak up on you. Here’s a list of items that will help you be prepared for both weather and a better fishing experience:

• Polarized Sunglasses
• Hat
• Sunscreen
• Bug spray / lotion
• Rain gear
• Socks
• Layered clothing

No, you do not need to have fly fishing gear. We provide rod, wader, boots, and flies. You are more that welcome to use your own gear if you prefer.

We believe a client-to-guide ratio of no more than 2 provides the best experience for both parties. For example, if you have a group of four people you will get two guides. Our booking system will allow you to book multiple Two Person bookings if we have the guides available (example: 2 each Two Person booking for a four person group).

Lodging is not included.

Transportation is not included.

Payment is due in full at the time of booking.

We strictly practice catch and release in an effort to help our fisheries maintain healthy fish populations.

We love introducing kids to fly fishing. However, we cannot guide anyone that is under the age of 8 years old.

If you need to cancel please do so more than 48 hours in advance to receive your refund, less booking fee and credit card fee. Cancellations within 48 hours of your scheduled trip will be charged the full amount. If you need to reschedule or change the number of people in your group, please do so 24 hours in advance. All trips will depart rain or shine. Tailwater Outfitters reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any trips due to weather (lightning), river levels (too high or too low) or extenuating circumstances at no cost to the customer.
